The Supreme Court has made it legal for Cities to ban unhoused people from living in the street by making a crime to do so with jail time. Would you support your City from proposing a similar ban? If your City already has a ban, would you advocate to overturn the ban and allow for unhoused people their right to sleep and be housed?

LGBTQ Centers are vital agencies in our region. The North County LGBTQ Resource Center alone provides lifesaving services that support homeless youth, people in addiction, survivors of violence, seniors in poverty and more as well as enhancing the local business community. If elected, would you advocate for your city to dedicate grants and resources to support our local North County LGBTQ Resource Center?
Solana Beach is a small City with limited resources but we do have an annual community grant program. While most grants directly benefit organizations and programs within our City some have a wider reach. Examples of recent grant beneficiaries that benefit north county residents both within and outside Solana Beach include the Community Resource Center, Pathways to Citizenship and the Cal Western School of Law Community Law Project. Our Council recently increased the overall grant budget and increased the maximum individual grant award. Each year we receive many worthy grant requests in excess of the available amount of funding. I encourage the NCLGBTQ Resouce Center to reach out to City Staff to learn more about our grant program including how to apply.
